My Motherland

                                                          SRI LANKA

                                     My motherland is Sri Lanka.  It is one of the most popular Asian countries.  It is surrounded by the Indian Ocean.  That is why people call it the "Pearl of the Indian Ocean".  Thambapanni, Ceylon, Lankadeepa are many names given by the ancestors. Sri Jayawardenapura is the capital of Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka made Sinhala the main language of our country. Sri Lanka has a long and proud history. It was a British colony.

                                           

 

 

 

                              Before 1948.  But the heroes were able to save it from them.  That day was declared February 4, 1948 as our Independence Day.  My motherland is a Buddhist country.  There are four major religions: Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity.My country is rich in many resources.  Although it was a small island, now it has become a wonder, because of their beauty.
